Vysoké nad Jizerou (Hochstadt an der Iser) is a town in the Liberec Region, one of the highest mountain towns in the Czech Republic. There lives approximately 1 300 residents. The town also includes the villages of Helkovice, Horní Tříč, Sklenařice and Stará Ves.
High is mentioned for the first time in the well-known written source as Wyssoka in 1352, as Alta ciuitas (can be translated with the feminine city title used in Latin approximately as High City Municipality, otherwise simply the High City) then in a reliable description of another spring acquired only in the fifteenth century to 4. August 1354. The first known owners are the Lords of Waldstein.
2012 lived here at the beginning of 1302, with 1351 five years earlier.
